During these trials,  passel were accused of treason (communism) by wild speculations and the blind  affidavit of others accused. These methods were the same as those shown by Miller in witchcraft, and the characters establish on actual historic participants in the trials. One of these  pile was  sacred John Hale, the  parson from Beverly called in as an  honest in the very beginning.  erst he is introduced to the story as a witchcraft expert, the  rage ensues, making him think he was the cause of the deaths of all of these  unobjectionable people, a regret he shows later in the play.
