The short story The Open Boat by Stephen Crane, tells a story about the material and excited pressure caused by personality, which four men face to survive date cat at sea in a lifeboat. The victor, tank driver, cook, and the letter writer completely respond emotionally and physically different to the tensionors that personality provides while stranded at sea. He didnt project his emotional stress like the others, but eagerly asked questions when the good deal on shore were spotted.
Although the captain called the oiler by his foremost name, the oiler always showed the captain the respect of calling him sir. That is the oilers way of dealings with the stress of the journey.
